Haven’t ridden a bicycle in a long time? Looking to explore and learn about the Delaware Canal?

Pedal along the historical Delaware Canal located within the Delaware Canal State Park. The Delaware Canal along with the Lehigh Canal are part of the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. Competed in 1832 it remains one of the longest-lived canals in the country. Still in existence are most of the original locks, aqueducts, and overflows. Many other historical items such as lock tender houses and camelback bridges exist along the 59 mile route. Most of which can be viewed along this tour.

The trip will make a stop in the Uhlerstown Historic District which was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. Here you can view the only remaining covered bridge that spans the canal along with many other historic buildings that developed out of the canal industry.

Trip begins and ends at the Giving Pond Recreation Area.
